About: An idyllic dog friendly Inn, set on the village green, overlooking the babbling brook and old packhorse bridge, this grade II listed building was originally three 17th century stone cottages and is set in one of the most beautiful settings in the Yorkshire dales and one of our favourite pubs. The Fountaine Inn offers great food served all day, in either one of the three bar areas or in the restaurant. The cosy snug has a roaring log fire ideal when you’ve been out walking in the colder months, with food being served, it is an ideal destination after a long walk.

Our View of the Pub: We always try to stop at this pub when we are in the area, it is a real nice country pub with lots of character and good food. The only niggle we have with this pub is some of the bar staff aren’t the friendliest and come across as a bit miserable, although overall we love this pub, if you can get a table that is, so that says a lot.
